Junior-Foodie Mason Mulvihill and James Shiftan enjoy some good eats at "Wild Magnolia" in Martinsville. SO cute
Babe's Chicken
When I first saw this place and saw the lines outside, I knew something was special about it. Inside, mix-matched chairs, picnic tables and a friendly staff awaits you. Fried Chicken is the name of their game.... simply put. They only have fried-chicken and chicken-fried steak on their menu. Served family style with Mashed potatoes, biscuits, salad and corn. Tony Stewart loves this place!
104 North Oak
Roanoke, Texas
(817) 491-2900
Hard Eight BBQ
Our buddy Nicky Morse (SPEED's The Racing Chef) gave us a tip about this place. Their ribs and brisket are amazing. We love how they decrible one of our favorite deserts... "slap-yo’-gran’ma- good banana pudding." This family owned barbecue place is spreading across Texas. With three locations (a fourth coming soon right near Texas Motor Speedway), Hard Eight is a place you need to put on your list.
688 Freeport Parkway
Coppell, TX

Twisted Root Burger Company
This place is pretty cool! Three chefs who were sick of eating ordinary burgers opened this place. The burger menu is fantasitc and creative. They have their own rootbeer and homemade condiments. Last time at Twister Root, MD had a Venison/Bison Burger with jalepenos that was Uber-Yummy. Check it out... it's just minutes from the track and across from Babe's Chicken!
101 South Oak Street
Roanoke, TX
(817) 490-6628
Esparzas
Located in historic downtown Grapevine, TX, Esparza's is a gem. It's in an old house-like building. It's eclectic and offers a creative menu of Tex-Mex dining. You can eat inside or outside under draped lights.
I introduced my friends from Racing Electronics to this place and they have been going ever since. My favorite item on the menu... QUESO FLAMEADO, a skillet of melted monterey jack cheese topped with your choice of beef steak or chnicken sauteed in gralic butter with onions and bell Peppers, finished with more melted monterey jack cheese!
124 East Worth Street
Grapevine, TX
(817) 481-4668
Cattlemen's Steakhouse
Going to the Historic Stockyards? Well, before you watch some bull-riding and square dancing with a cold beverage at Billy Bob's... hit this place. Cattlemen's is a famous steakhouse. Don't get a salad, or chicken. BEEF is their specialty. They've been doing great steaks for over 62-years at Cattlemen's. Have also heard that Mike Wallace is a big fan of this joint!
2458 N Main St,
Fort Worth, TX
